One of our big themes for 2019 is ideas and experiences to help us redefine our relationship with nature.

We are at a beautiful advantage given we appear in a landscape of over 180 acres, with woods, fields and a lake with our unique flora, fauna and wildlife.

Take a walk on the wild side by joining Britain's best-known environmental campaigner and former director of Friends of the Earth, Tony Juniper who has agreed to turn his incredible book 'what has nature done for us' into a walk.

Discover the proven health benefits of Forest Bathing as our forest therapy guide leads you on a transformative tree walk.

Join us for our nocturnal bat safari - our Capability Brown designed landscape, ancient woodland and a fantastic lake is bat heaven.

Join broadcaster, writer, naturalist David Lindo aka the Urban Birder on a “Bird Walk of Wonder”. He'll be leading a walk deep into the woods to understand the word from the perspective of our feathered friends.

Lake swimming is glorious and restorative - and takes centre stage at ALSO with our wild swimming sessions open to all, and for those who want to go a bit deeper, our wild swimming expert has designed a number of specialised guided swims.

Research suggests exercising in nature is so much more beneficial than being indoors, so enjoy our outdoor yoga, our fire yoga, our running club, our Tai Chi Quigong.

Consider joining Outdoors Specialist and Master Herbalist, Simon Birbeck who will be leading two morning foraging walking workshops just for ALSO and two bushcraft survival sessions in the afternoons.

Or adorn yourselves with fabulous floral-with-a-hint-of-Frida crowns! We love our ALSO audience to express themselves...say it with flowers.

Grab a book and dedicate time to wild read - just a couple of hours spent in nature can benefit health and wellbeing, book yourself a massage, seek our alcohol-free Aecorn Aperitif bar early evening Saturday deep in the forest, whatever you decide to do with your weekend with us - nature makes it better.
