Fabulous Food
Dining
ALSO is home to its legendary DINING tent, a beautiful marquee dressed and designed for a Parisian cabaret and long table dining with a cocktail bar to match.
All new for 24, James Whetlor (renowned James Beard award-winning chef, formerly at River Cottage, and founder of the ethical, sustainably conscious business Cabrito) joins us as ALSO Festival’s first-ever Executive Chef in Residence. And with six dinners across the weekend, you can punctuate your weekend with a dining event or two. Choose from a three-course prix-fixe brasserie dinner on Friday night (before the Friday cabaret), a 'cookbook of the moment' lunch on Saturday, an asado-style taco dinner on Saturday night, and a lunchtime curry with beer (alc or non-alc) on Sunday with a closing party dinner on Sunday night. Want to stay on until Monday? No problem. All part of our ALSO's highly regarded Food Festival Within a Festival.
Food On Site
What we eat and what we drink is such a celebratory part of our lives and we know from our ten years in our Capability Brown site from oysters to street food, rum cocktails to buffalo gelato, eating and drinking are all so much more tasteful in the wild.
So to celebrate our 11th year, we'll thread through our talks, cocktail bar, dining stage, demo kitchen and Book'n'Shop so many different ways to engage with what we enjoy eating and drinking... including a cheese tasting masterclass with the cheesemonger, cheese maker and cheese awards judge, and author of 'The Cheese Wheel’, Emma Young, an oyster tasting masterclass with seafood and oyster bar Winkle Picker, take a tour of wine with writer and journalist Jane Parkinson’s most highly recommended sustainable wines or join Metropolitan chef Marie Mitchell, co-founder of the sell-out smash hit Island Social Club, for a demo & tasting where you can taste your way around the Caribbean island through its food and rum punch!
