Volunteer
Now in our 10th year, we have rapidly become one of the UK's leading ideas festivals, known throughout the land as the place to go for a weekend that offers a heady mix of ideas, experiences and adventures. All delivered within our fabulous setting - 50 acres of sculpted parkland with wonderful views over our beautiful lake.
ALSO exists for one weekend only that is a wild site throughout the rest of the year. Each of our TEN years we have grown ALSO's ambition a little, taking what is possible to do in a field a little bit further and we have been able to do this because of the volunteers who work with us on build and on delivery. ALSO is a mirage that exists for a weekend it is working with our volunteers that helps us create ALSO's magic.
So why not join us? This year for ALSO23 we have carefully designed four options so you can be as involved as much or as little as you like, before or during the festival. Each option is designed to work for couples, groups or those flying solo, the only stipulation is that you are over 18.

Perfect for those looking for a subsidised ticket and who only want to give up a bit of their festival time. For your heavily reduced price ticket of £60 we require one 6 hour shift during the festival. Then for the rest of the time you get full access to ALSO.
We ask that you arrive no later than 6pm on the Friday and although our volunteer coordinator works really really hard to ensure any special requests are met, such as the shift being the same time as another volunteer, avoiding a talk/workshop you really really want to do, you need to be be prepared to work any shift allocated. Roles are likely to be box office, stewarding, assisting with our experience and food programme. You ALSO get to a drink and snack from our lovely deli.
Contact our Volunteer Co-Ordinator on volunteers@also-festival.com if you have any questions.

New for 23 we’re opening up Team Build to our volunteers. The site emerges in the month before ALSO to exist for one weekend only in a wild and beautiful site and to get it looking as incredible as it does requires THE BUILD TEAM. This is an incredible volunteering opportunity to get really stuck in with the creative and manual side of bringing the design of the festival to life, and the chance to join an incredible team to create something together - if you've never done this - we highly recommend it. Over 6-8 weekends in the months, or any days in the 3 weeks leading up to ALSO we invite you to grab a paint brush and join in Team Build. In exchange for your free festival ticket we ask for two days of your time. This can be over one weekend and we encourage you to bring a tent to really make a weekend of if or two separate days over the dates given. Example tasks include buiding stages, signage, decoration, painting and take down. Or if you already have practical experience get in touch with our Volunteer Coordinator and we'll find the right role for you.
Under the watchful eye of our Head of Build, Tom, this is a great opportunity to gain some practical experience as well as have an enjoyable weekend. The added bonus being you get to enjoy the fruits of your labour and point out the bits you did to your friends over the festival later in the year.
Build weekend dates are:
10th/11th June
1st/2nd July
8th/9th July
Build week
10th - 13th July
Contact our Volunteer Coordinator on volunteers@also-festival.com to apply and find out a bit more about it.
