The first thing to do is to drink in the site - take the time to take it in - this is your home for the weekend - and nearly everything you do will be enhanced and improved by being in 50 acres of natural beauty. The landscape in which you will spend your weekend was created by Capability Brown and designed to make you think of heaven on earth. It can be quite affecting - no need to treat it like a vampire - let it in!
Once you've set up camp - please do take a walk around the site - take a walk up to the Costa del ALSO, we are able to accommodate cars with car passes on to the far east of the site (and our free parking isn't far away) so we hope you can bring everything you might need for the weekend - from roll necks to roller skates - don’t forget we have a pop-up roller disco on the Saturday night - more on Saturday coming up next week. We just ask you don’t bring your own booze or in fact anything in glass on the site. Philippa Perry will be holding her psycho meet and greet session in the bar - a highlight of one of our 2019 themes - strong relationships - this will be a great way to get the tone of ALSO, as is the session where festival directors Juliet Russell and Helen Maus review all the ideas coming up in the festival in one 'Gigantic' session.
Friday's music line-up is magic, and our clever comedy strand even stronger for 2019 - check out both across our talks, main and the lake stages. You could treat yourself to one of our experiences - learn about Kombucha for £5, and we have an extravagant wine and chocolate tasting for £15, or book on Scented Yoga for £3 with a perfumer and yoga teacher. Or take yourself on a mini Forest Bathing walk through the ALSO Woods - we’ve written an introductory essay to this life-affirming practice which you'll find on our blog. Our Info Tent will be up and running and the Info team will able to advise as to whether there are any other things you’d like to book on to over the weekend.
Our Dining and Cocktail Tent keeps serving cocktails until late and our Ottoman BBQ Banquet from Cabrito until late - our beautiful Dining Tent has plenty of room to get you and the gang, the family or those who want to experience in-festival dining at a fraction of the cost of other festivals.
And as the sun goes down on ALSO - look out for the late night content to suit your mood: bat walk, life drawing, DJs, a Tango Milonga and our much loved Disco Bunker made of straw. For an overview of what's on, when, take a look at our working programme.
And finally, we are repeating our Friday night £20 tickets which include entry to the festival for the Friday Night, if you are local and want friends to join or have friends in the area - please book here. Please note, the final price rise is on Wednesday 26th June for those who are still to book tickets.
PS. Still considering our glamping offer? We have the best offer in festival town. This is your last chance to reserve your Bell Tent at our Hippy Heights Hotel. Or why not book a VW camper van (SWB) and sleep in style? Yes, for 2019 we've paired with Camper King.
