We have over 200 incredible events at The Also Festival, including the fascinating, entertaining talks around big and bold ideas. Comedy, music, singing, dancing, and dining are all huge themes for 2018; and please take a look at our music programming if you haven't seen it already - it's our best ever - and we'll be putting together a pre-festival playlist to get you in our mood.

Workshops and immersive experiences are a feature of the ALSO experience. Over the festival weekend, we make sure there are plenty of sessions you can drop by and join on the day including Also Festival favourites: Forest Schoolwildlife walks, and wild swimming. Art Macabre are creating their Paper Theatre on Sunday morning and look out for as creatives - they're creating an unbeatable strand of programming for kids including their Lantern workshops and the chance to perform in The Tempest. And don't miss BAFTA-winning animators, The Brothers' McLeod - they're running a workshop on creativity

New events / workshops / masterclasses / family events / fun events / kids sessions and talks are going up every day on our website so it's is time to start planning your ALSO Experience '18. If you pre-buy a programme we will send you our current production schedule this week so you can start to map out workshops, masterclasses and dining events you might want to do...

Unusual Family and Group Friendly Highlights

We also want to draw your attention to a couple of the more unusual sessions for families or feel-like family groups, which need prebooking and give you the chance to go into something a little bit deeper.

Why not take part in our Immersive Land Art experience? To focus on our Pagan past, together, in the style of the old white horses we’ll be creating a giant rabbit on the hill marked out in fairy lights.

Want to dress yourself in flowers this summer? The wonderful, theatrical Art Macabre will be kindly on hand to work with the most beautiful high summer flowers to create a unique headpiece, corsage or theatrical buttonhole for you or a special person in your festival life.

Or spend an hour building, testing and flying a working Stomp Rocket. And there's a prize for whoever launches their rocket the furthest! Dare to have a go? 10.....9.......8....

Want to build on your wild swimming experience of previous years or explore the nature of the lake in more detail? Book on to one of Suzanna’s guided swims in our gorgeous half-mile lake.

...and while the others in your group might be busy, take a look at our 'Clever Pleasures' series. It's designed for those who want a bit of knowledge with their favourite things to eat and drink, and it means you can eat and drink your way through the festival, learning as you go along.

Immersive Food Event Highlights

A huge highlight of the Friday night is the chance to travel through the social history of the first half of the 20th Century through cocktails with Jessica Fellowes, author of the wildly successful novel The Mitford Murders.

Food historian, Professor Rebecca Earle will be at Also Festival to invite us to taste our way around the world through the British foods we love.

Discover how simple ingredients can be transformed into delicious, health-boosting pickles with this ancient method of food preservation in an introduction to Fermentation Workshop.

Taste your way around the highlands and islands in five different whiskys with BBC Radio 4's Kitchen Confidential broadcaster, Rachel McCormack's Whisky Masterclass, or her tasting tour of the foods around the Northern Coast of Spain.

Or on Saturday, our favourite Cornish wine expert, Dan Abbots (ex-wine buyer for Bibendum) will be at ALSO to take us on a tasting tour of the West Country wines matching them with Cornish foods. Or join a neuroscientist and wine broker to understand how music and wine affect each other. Planet of the Grape's Matt Harris and leading expert on the brain and music neuroscientist, Dr Catherine Loveday will be explaining how to choose the music to drink your wine to.

There's a Gin Tasting and Perfume-Making Masterclass with award-winning perfumier Sarah McCartney, where you’ll explore the botanicals used to flavour gin, and you'll be using the same materials, with organic grain alcohol, to make a thoroughly wearable fragrance. Sarah is also doing a Scented Yoga session on the Friday in which you get a take-home vial of perfume to perfume your ALSO weekend.

We hope you have enjoyed looking at our food events - Sunday's Ibiza Beach Brunch is getting quite full already so do make sure you book in the next week or so to make sure you get the ones that you want.
