Now in our 14th year, we have rapidly become one of the UK's leading ideas festivals, known as the place to go for a weekend offering a heady mix of talks, experiences and adventures, all delivered within our fabulous setting - acres of sculpted parkland with wonderful views over a beautiful 20 acre lake.

The festival pops up for one extraordinary weekend in a site that’s usually wild, and every year we’ve grown ALSO's ambition a little, taking what’s possible to do in a field that little bit further. We have only been able to do this thanks to the incredible team of volunteers who work with us on build and delivery, creating ALSO's magic.

The Volunteer Ticket

Perfect for those looking for a subsidised ticket and who only want to give up a bit of their festival time. For your heavily reduced price ticket of £75 we require one 6 hour shift during the festival. Then for the rest of the time you get full access to ALSO.
We ask that you arrive no later than 6pm on the Friday and, although our volunteer coordinator works really really hard to ensure you get the shift you want, you will need to be prepared to work any shift allocated. Roles are likely to be box office, stewarding, assisting with our experience and food programme.

For those who want to get more deeply involved in the delivery of ALSO, helping to create the magic in the field. For your completely free tickets to ALSO we ask for 3 shifts of four hours each over the weekend. This will most likely be one per day and you could be volunteering on a wide variety of roles. From box office and stewarding, to stage management and supporting our experience and food programming to artist liaison and tech support. There really is something for everyone and it’s great to do this with friends and family as well as being perfect for those solo travellers to meet like minded people. Our volunteer coordinator will work with you to find the right fit for you to make sure you have a fantastic volunteer experience.

Volunteer FAQs

We have carefully designed three volunteering options so you can be as involved as much or as little as you like, before or during the festival. Please read through the descriptions of each option and choose the one most suitable for you. Here are some FAQs should you need a bit more information.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN EACH OPTION?

Full Volunteer

We ask for three 4-hour shifts over the weekend, giving you access to the festival for the rest of the time. You will get a food and drink voucher for each shift. This includes general camping including a car or campervan pass.

Volunteer Ticket

For one six-hour shift, you get a heavily discounted adult weekend ticket to the festival.

CAN I REQUEST TO WORK ON A PARTICULAR EVENT OR AREA?

Yes, please let our volunteer coordinator know any preferences and they will do their best to accommodate

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY SHIFT DETAILS?

Our volunteer coordinator will work with you and do their best to find the right fit so your volunteer experience is a fantastic one.
- Full Volunteer - you will receive your volunteer pack and shift details approximately 3 weeks before the festival.
- Volunteer Ticket - you will be emailed your shift details approximately 3 weeks before the festival.
IS THERE A MINIMUM AGE?

The minimum age is 18.

CAN I DO THE SAME SHIFT AS ANOTHER VOLUNTEER?

Absolutely, please let our volunteer coordinator know who you would like to do the same shifts with and they will do their best to make that happen.

THERE IS SOMETHING I REALLY REALLY WANT TO SEE AND DO OVER THE WEEKEND, CAN I ASK FOR MY SHIFT NOT TO BE AT THE SAME TIME?

Please let our volunteer coordinator know any requests and they will do their best to work around them.

IS THERE A CREW/VOLUNTEER CAMPING AREA?

We don't have a specific area for crew/volunteers, you can camp anywhere in the designated camping areas in our beautiful 50 acres site.

IS CAMPING INCLUDED?

General camping and general parking is included in all tickets.

Full volunteers are entitled to a car or campervan pass.

Volunteer Ticket holder would need to purchase a car or campervan pass if required.

CAN I BOOK ON DINNERS AND EXPERIENCES?

You can book on dinners and experiences outside of your shift times, they can be booked via the website. Please check your shifts or request before booking.
