Enjoy rum punch and cuba swing in our authentic Caribbean Rum Shack on the shores of Compton Pools. Look out for our showstopper, Saturday night's Truth or Dare Banquet, an immersive theatrical and visual experience accompanied by an innovative tasting menu and our now legendary, high-octane, pudding procession. Or be dazzled by our themed midnight feasts hosted over the weekend - adults get to experience the world of The East Also Shipping Company's last night on dry land, kids get to go where the wild things are for theirs - The KidNight Beast.
Saturday night's Truth or Dare Banquet will be a huge highlight of the festival. Imagine a feast of the audio, visual and theatric together with the most incredible menu we have ever put together including our now legendary PUDDING PROCESSION. This dinner celebrates our theme of Truth or Dare with an exquisite and innovative tasting menu, and will take place in our beautiful dining tent. This will be a spectacular and entertaining opportunity to explore your own relationship to truth and to test out your most daring side, with a menu designed by James Knight and Rebecca Otero.
The incomparable James Knight and Rebecca Otero are back to create Summer Heights for our Friday night to be served lakeside in our beautiful dining tent over looking Capability Brown's finest work. Pitch your tent or check in to the Safari Hotel, and head over to our Friday night dinner to begin your weekend in style. The Midsummer's Night Dream will be three celebratory courses of food local to Warwickshire, in season, and largely sourced from within 10 miles of the festival. We know for many, the weekend begins with our now legendary Friday night pop up . Dinner is served from 7pm to 10:00 on Friday 30th June.
In this incredible wine tasting session leading misanthropic Frenchman Marcel Lucont suggests which wines should be drunk with the more unusual philosophical situations you might find yourself in. Drawing on his own experience and philosophy of life he'll explain what to take to a party held by people you despise, and what to drink to make you seem more successful at life even though you are British. This is a wine tasting session unlike any other - Also Festival style.
You're in 50 acres of Capability Brown landscape, you've got a perfect lakeside view, the English countryside has never looked greener why wouldn't you treat yourself to an afternoon tea? Our now legendary full afternoon tea is served in the specially decorated Dining Tent, and a gorgeous way to enjoy the surroundings anew while being served a delicious complement of sandwiches, and cakes and tea, with cheeky cocktails for the adults.
Following our Sunday lake swim session our in festival chefs would like to invite everyone to come together to enjoy the food of the Balearic Islands in our stunning dining tent, overlooking the lake. They will be unashamedly Balearic (think billowing white curtains, jugs of cava sangria, and sunglasses) as James Knight and Rebecca Otero, natives of the white isle, on loan to the UK for the festival celebrate the food of the island in this incredible Ibizian brunch, we'll be putting together a paella party served in our beautiful dining tent. Olé.
Like champange? Like 17th Century Orangeries made out of OSB and polythene sheeting? We are the festival for you. Sometimes, frankly, only champange will do, so for one hour only, Sylvie will set up her champagne bar in our brand new Orangery, and she's invited you along.
Join us for our umlaut on Frühstück Breakfast Brunch. We're all about cultural appreciation not appropriation and so are appropriating the best of the German breakfast and mixing it up with a bit of best of British. Sit in our beatuiful dining tent, tea, coffee, fruit juice with a delightful, elegant continental platter with all the elements of a good old English breakfast. Saturday.
If you go down to the dining tent at midnight you're in for a big surprise as we present our very first ever Victorian Shipwreck Midnight Feast. Think: Sea shanties. Shells. Sailors. Oh yes. This will be all the joy of a two course midnight feast in the beautiful dining tent resplendent bathed in candle light and shots of hot buttered rum all round to help you settle down for a night under canvas.
Experience the world as an animal by booking onto the kids tent at 9pm for a woodland feast. Midnight in the woodland will be just after sunset when animals begin their nocturnal hunt for food. Feel free to come dressed as your favourite animal for a storytelling and midnight feast. Inspired by Charles Foster's book 'Being A Beast.'
We're really excited by this interactive event. We have created a specially designed cocktail event to explore the way our brains work. We will explore whether taste can be enhanced by colour and sound, and take a journey through our taste buds via a series of cocktails of delicious cocktails. Space is limited!
For 2017, we're creating an authentic venue to get to grips with your feelings about rum by building Also Festival its very own Rum Shack on the banks of the beautiful lake. Our thinking was inspired by Justin and Gill, two brilliant members of the ALSO team (and they're all brillliant) who spent a year in Honduras working on an enviromental project for the local community and developing a healthy regard for rum - in that order.
